First year

• Basic courses (hands-on courses on microscopy, flow cytometry, laser microdissection, competence course of animal experimentation etc.)

Second year

Fourth and subsequent years

• Advanced courses (EMBO, EMBL, Keystone Symposia, Cold Spring Harbour Laboratory Meetings and Courses)
• Career development courses etc.
• Laboratory visits to potential post doc –laboratories
• Presentation in international meetings
• TuBS courses and symposia
• BioCity Turku courses and symposia
• Finalising the thesis project
• Writing the thesis
